Career Education Systems Buys American School of Real Estate in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (July 22, 2005) – Career Education Systems (CES), the leading provider of real estate education in Kansas and Missouri, has purchased American School of Real Estate in St. Louis for an undisclosed amount, making CES

the largest provider of real estate education in St. Louis.

Career Education Systems currently trains nearly 20 percent of Missouri’s new real estate licensees and leads both Missouri and Kansas in high exam pass rates. Because of the recent acquisition, Career Education Systems will train approximately 32 percent—or an additional 700 pre-license students per year in Missouri.

CES will employ a total of eight full-time instructors at two St. Louis schools, one at 14450 S. Outer 40 Rd. in Town and Country and the other at 2145 Barrett Station Rd. in Manchester.

"St. Louis real estate professionals will benefit from the expanded educational programs, high exam pass rates and licensing services provided by Career Education Systems,” said Mark Barker, president. “Students can receive such designations as the Accredited Real Estate Professional® and Career Management Real Estate Professional®, which are currently offered no where else in St. Louis. Experienced agents will benefit from our advanced designation programs and cutting-edge continuing education courses.”

Former owner of American School of Real Estate, Richard Linkemer, who sold the school to Career Education Systems, will retire from the classroom after serving 20 years in the real estate industry.

Kansas City-based Career Education Systems (CES), a real estate education company, operates schools across Missouri in Kansas City, Kansas City North, and St. Louis, and in Wichita, Kansas. Providing real estate education to licensees for over 25 years, CES offers salesperson and broker pre- and post-license courses, special designation courses and continuing education. CES is a RealtyU® Affiliate, a network of more than 35 schools committed to providing quality real estate education. For more information, log onto www.CareerEducationSystems.com.
